Rai is an Italian free-to-air television channel owned and operated by state-owned public broadcaster RAI – Radiotelevisione italiana. It is the company's flagship television channel, and is known for broadcasting mainstream and generalist programming, usually aimed towards families, including TG1 news bulletins, prime time drama, cinema and entertainment, and major breaking news, sports and special events.
Looking for a job can be a tedious and discouraging process, especially if the platform the user is using is poorly designed. For this reason, RAI, the Italian national public broadcaster, challenged us to redesign their job posting portal Lavora con noi (Work with Us), adopting the User-Centered Design methodology. The following work was carried out within the master’s program in UX Design delivered by Talent Garden.
Our redesign proposal was guided by the goal of creating a warm and friendly environment for the users who enter Rai, making them feel part of a large family and assisting them in every step of the selection process. Using the corporate UI kit, we tried to design a solution that is easy to navigate and that minimizes the cognitive load.
Our objective was to develop a user-friendly and accessible platform tailored to our target audience. The dashboard, designed with careful consideration, serves a dual purpose: not only does it provide a meaningful interface for tracking the application status, but it also serves as a valuable tool for studying and preparing for the specific job position. Through thoughtful design and functionality, our platform aims to enhance the overall user experience, ensuring that users can seamlessly navigate, monitor their application progress, and acquire the necessary insights to excel in their pursuit of the desired job.
